The Big Blue Machine wrapped up UIL Concert & Sightreading season on Thursday (following two succesful days from our JH Bands) with tremendous class and a stellar performance. To accommodate bus routes we left HJ traveling to Nederland at 1:00 pm. Our performance was slated for 5:40. One of the NHS Band Directors sent me this message:

“…I also thought your kids acted very good the whole time they were there. It had to be pretty hard on them (and you) getting there so early and having to wait around and then play very last, but they handled that situation maturely and you can brag on them for that.”

The compliments came pouring in about their stage performance from lots of great band directors, including Dr. McMahan of Lamar University. “You guys put some work into that program. The way they watch you, it was professional. Tell them I said that.”

Superior Marching (fall semester) - 111

SWEEPSTAKES don’t happen by accident. So to the students of Big Blue, THANK YOU for your relentless pursuit of musical excellence. We continue to make our best BETTER. To my wonderful colleagues, Olivia Contreras and Jonathan Gonzalez, thank you for going above and beyond for our students. None of this happens without you.
